Daily Goals & Schedules

Please check this page each day and use as a check list. Be sure to leave notes in the “discussion” section of your page to let your group know what you accomplished during the period.
MRMS: Daily Goals are set up for our block period.
PBMS: Daily Goals are set up so you will take two class periods to complete each “Day”.
AT THE END OF EACH DAY:Send your group mates a message and/or leave a message in the “Discussion” tab letting them know what you've accomplished today, ideas you have, and what needs to be worked on next.

Day 1: Mon 11/28 & Tues 11/29 (Weds 11/30 & Thurs 12/1)
  1. Sign into The Poetry Place to test your login & password assigned to you.
  2. Read and understand the requirements for our poetry project.
  3. Understand how a wiki works as a format for sharing information and collaborating on a final webpage product.
  4. Begin reading and analyzing website information for your assigned poet, as well as poems they’ve written
  5. Play in the sandbox.
  6. Send a message to your group mates as to ideas that you have regarding this project on the discussion tab on YOUR PAGE. (The one that has your poet’s name.)
  7. MRMS: Create and/or check for a group poet folder in our 743 folder on the P:Public Drive & create a poet folder in your H: Drive.
PBMS: Create a poet folder on your hard drive or flash drive.
  1. Per Group: Find 7-9 pictures for your video.
SAVE In: MRMS: Poet Folder in your H: Drive AND your group folder on the P: Public Drive in the 743 folder. PBMS: Poet folder on hard drive & flash drive.
  1. As a GROUP: Start talking about & decide which poem you will “interpret” for your video.
10.Send your group a message and/or leave a message in the “Discussion” tab letting them know what you've accomplished today, ideas you have, and what needs to be worked on next.

Day 2: Fri 12/2 & Mon 12/5
  1. Have your notes you've taken on your poet.
  2. As a GROUP: Write your plan for your video.
Plan: Who will interpret & speak which section of the poem, and which pictures go where, and when each of you will do this. Each person must speak. (Don't forget to source the pictures at the end.)
  1. You also need to make decision as to which part of the group is going to start it and how you will get the incomplete video to the other part of the group.
  2. Possibly start the video (Use Photostory) - put pictures in, poem title, poet. MRMS: Save to Public drive and your home drive. PBMS: Save to your folder on your hard drive & flash drive.
  3. Start adding information to your wiki page.
  4. Start work on inserting pictures & adding captions.
  5. Leave a message to your group as to what you did and/or what you need from them or what they will need to do.

Day 3: Tues 12/6 & Weds 12/7
  1. Finish adding information to your wiki page.
  2. Look at use of headings, layout, etc.
  3. As a GROUP: Have draft/map written for your video piece.
  4. As a GROUP: Select music if you will be adding it including the narration, with the goal of getting it completed and inserted into the wiki. PLEASE save a draft copy of the video on both sides!!
MRMS: Save to your Home drive AND your group folder.
PBMS: Save to your hard drive folder and flash drive.
  1. Please go back and visit the requirements.
  2. Go back through last two daily goals and be sure you've completed them all.
  3. Double check requirements.
  4. Leave a message to your group as to what you did and/or what you need from them.

Day 4: Thurs 12/8 & Fri 12/9
  1. Finish adding any information needed for wiki. Please go back and visit the requirements.
  2. View completed movie. Check for voice sound & quality, transitions, and music.
  3. Insert movie into wiki.
  4. Fine tune wiki page.
  5. Visit our wiki pages in this team wiki and post postive feedback about their page.


Day 5: Mon 12/12 & Tues 12/13
1. This is/these are the days to be sure that all work is finalized!
A. Page title (Poet’s name, group member’s names-first)
B. Headings for sections
C. Capital letters, punctuation where needed & correct spelling throughout.
D. Pictures all have captions & are sourced.
E. Fonts & colors work well, look nice, and make the page easy to read.
F. Video is embedded and works!
1.) Poem title & author
2.) Audio can be heard and understood.
3.) Group member first names are at the end & sources for pictures are at the end.
G. Works Cited:
1.) All group members have added their sources correctly, following the same format at the bottom of the page.
2.) No source is listed twice.
3.) Sources are listed in alphabetical order following MLA format.

2. SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!! Make backups of your info in your specific place.
3. Check out other group pages; leave them some feedback in their Discussion tab!
